As John Stamos prepares to be a dad, he’s surrounding himself with family and friends. The actor is expecting his first child with fiancée Caitlin McHugh, due in spring of 2018. The 54-year-old actor took to Instagram on Sunday to share a pic of his recent unexpected visitors. It appears he had a surprise, mini ER reunion over the weekend, and judging from the photo, it looked pretty epic. Goran Visnjic, Maura Tierney, Scott Grimes and Linda Cardellini were all in attendance, and at one point, they jumped in a photo with Stamos behind the medical drama’s “old County General doors.”
It turns out they all decided to pay Stamos a little catch-up visit over the weekend, and he, of course, captured the photographic evidence so we could all revel in the nostalgia a little bit. The old gang looks like they’re having a blast being back together again, and it’s great that Stamos is getting in face time with his old friends before the baby comes and his life gets way more hectic.
“My #ER cast came to my house for a visit,” he captioned it, adding, “I keep everything” in reference to the doors taken from the set.
The only thing that would make this picture better would be an appearance by George Clooney, who played Doug Ross on the TV series. Clooney became a first-time father in his fifties when he welcomed twins Alexander and Ella with wife Amal in June. We would have loved to hear what kind of advice Clooney has for his former co-star!
Goran Visnjic and the rest of the team were excited to share their own take on the get-together as well.
“Look at this crew … thanks @johnstamos for a wonderful night! Check the door sign,” Goran Visnjic captioned the same shot.
Goran Visnjic may not have starred on ER at the same time as George Clooney, but he was still lucky enough to interact with Dr. Doug Ross himself. The Timeless star joined the cast of the hit medical drama in 1999, and on his first day on set, Goran Visnjic meet George Clooney on the parking lot.
The ER producers knew they were taking a gamble when they hired Visnjic. They were looking for someone to inject the show with the sexual tension it had lacked since Clooney’s departure. From the moment viewers watched Goran Visnjic walk into Cook County’s A&E department with an injured child in his arms, then perform an emergency caesarean, the pain of Dr. Ross’s departure was swiftly forgotten.
